LEEDS UNITED 4-1 NEWCASTLE UNITED
What a night at Elland Road! Leeds United produced a brilliant attacking display to beat Newcastle United 4-1, with the Whites putting four past the visitors in front of a rocking home crowd.
Leeds started brightly and took the lead in the 32nd minute. Ao Tanaka picked up the ball and fired a shot towards goal, with the effort taking two deflections — first off Stuer and then Newcastle's Lewis Miley — before finding the back of the net. It wasn't the cleanest goal, but nobody inside Elland Road cared as Leeds went 1-0 up.
Just two minutes later, Leeds doubled their advantage. Dominic Calvert-Lewin got himself on the scoresheet in the 34th minute, giving Newcastle an even bigger mountain to climb and sending the home supporters into another huge celebration.
Leeds continued to dominate and Newcastle struggled to deal with the pressure. Then, deep into first-half stoppage time, DCL struck again.
The 45+3rd-minute goal was Calvert-Lewin's second of the night and Leeds' third, sending the Whites into half-time with a commanding 3-0 lead. It was a superb first-half performance from Farke's side.
Newcastle needed a fast start after the break, but Leeds had other ideas.
The Whites continued to attack and were rewarded with a fourth goal in the 59th minute as Noah Okafor found the back of the net. At 4-0, Elland Road was bouncing and Leeds were firmly in control.
Newcastle eventually managed to pull one back in the 90th minute, but it was nothing more than a consolation as Leeds comfortably saw out the remaining minutes.
The final whistle sparked huge celebrations around Elland Road as Leeds secured an emphatic 4-1 victory.
Four goals, three points and a memorable performance from the Whites.
And what a night for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who bagged a brace to help fire Leeds to victory.
Elland Road was rocking. Leeds delivered.
MARCHING ON TOGETHER. 💙💛
