Leeds United head back to the City Ground on Tuesday night, just days after leaving Nottingham with all three Premier League points. This time, however, there is a place in the next round of the EFL Cup at stake, and Leeds will be looking to make it two wins from two against Nottingham Forest in the space of just a few days.
The Whites couldn't have asked for a better start to the new Premier League season. Anton Stach's late free-kick secured a 1-0 victory over Forest on Saturday, with Leeds defending strongly and frustrating the home side for large periods.
Now Daniel Farke's side have the chance to go one step further.
Forest will obviously be desperate to respond after Saturday's defeat, but Leeds should head into this game full of confidence. There was plenty to like about the opening-day performance, particularly the organisation without the ball and the ability to remain patient before eventually finding the breakthrough.
The Carabao Cup also gives Farke the opportunity to rotate his squad. With the Premier League the main priority, we could see changes to the starting XI, giving some of Leeds' squad players the chance to impress. That could actually make this an even more exciting game from a Leeds perspective, with players fighting for their places and looking to make an impact.
Forest, meanwhile, have the advantage of playing at home once again, but Leeds have already proved that the City Ground isn't a place to fear. Saturday's result will have given the Whites belief that they can control the game and exploit Forest's weaknesses.
And this time, I'm expecting Leeds to be even more ruthless.
The first meeting was a tight contest, but with Forest needing to open up and Leeds potentially having more freedom in the cup, there could be far more opportunities in front of goal. Leeds have attacking quality throughout the squad and, if they take their chances, they could put this tie beyond Forest before the final whistle.
From a Leeds perspective, the EFL Cup should be taken seriously. A cup run would provide another opportunity for the squad to develop, give fringe players valuable minutes and create more memorable nights for supporters.
After beating Forest on Saturday, Leeds have already shown they can win at the City Ground.
Now it's time to do it again — and this time, with a convincing scoreline.
